(Watch in HD if possible, as it was recorded in 4k. Boring paved sections were often times sped up. )
It's done! A group of us rode the Idaho Backcountry Discovery Route (BDR) and the Washington BDR. We rode for two weeks, which spanned almost 2,000 miles of off-road bliss - a monumental adventure! 10 hearty souls were invited, 7 showed, 1 broke down and 4 finished the entire Idaho and Washington routes. Highlights along the way were:
* Getting on and off the heavily-laden bikes proved challenging
* Plenty of traffic by people doing the same thing
* No [badly] broken bikes (Well, one on the first day. Sorry John!)
* No [bad] wrecks or injuries
* Beautiful weather (NO rain!)
* No flat tires!
* Things wear out - on the bikes too!
* Monkey Butt is a real thing
* No bears, but plenty of other critters!
* No forest fires! (Well, we did see one start on Lolo Pass)
* Many thanks to Neal for hauling our machines!
When the planning stops, the adventure begins...
